A focused Christian Bible-study project
APOLLOS exists to help seekers study what the New Testament teaches about becoming a Christian, especially salvation, sin, grace, faith, repentance, and baptism.
Who is behind it
APOLLOS is an independent Bible-study project. Its study library includes material from multiple Church of Christ study collections, including material provided through 56th & Vine Church of Christ in Lincoln, Nebraska. APOLLOS operates as a standalone project rather than as an official website for every congregation whose study material may be represented.
What theological perspective should I expect?
The study library reflects a Church of Christ approach to Scripture. Visitors from other Christian traditions may disagree with some conclusions, especially about the relationship between faith, repentance, baptism, and salvation. APOLLOS aims to make that perspective visible rather than hiding it, while treating other people and traditions respectfully.
How answers are formed
APOLLOS answers from a curated study library rather than from open-ended web search. The system is instructed to stay within the material retrieved for the current question, to cite relevant Scripture references when those references are present, and not to invent verse wording from memory.
Why Scripture references matter
APOLLOS is designed to help people examine the biblical passages behind an answer for themselves. Public topic pages list key passages, and the chat can surface Scripture references from the approved study material. You should always read the passages in context and compare what you are told with Scripture.
Human follow-up
APOLLOS is not meant to replace a local congregation, elder, minister, or personal Bible study. When appropriate, the site can help you find a nearby Church of Christ congregation and prepare a contact message. Nothing is sent automatically, and location search begins only after you choose to use it.
Privacy and limits
Conversation history is stored in your browser. Recent conversation turns and retrieved study passages are sent to the answer service when needed to generate a response. APOLLOS is not a confidential counseling, crisis, or emergency service.
